Opera Mobile 9.7 Beta Released

Opera has released Opera Mobile 9.7 beta for Windows Mobile-based phones. This latest version of Opera mobile claims to be faster due to the addition of Opera Turbo, Opera's technology for faster surfing. Opera has also included its newly upgraded browser engine, called Opera Presto 2.2, for faster page loads and better overall performance. In addition Opera Mobile 9.7 features Opera Widgets, which allows you the get content from the Web with just a few clicks.

The Opera Turbo technology in Opera Mobile 9.7 makes surfing faster because it unburdens the mobile phone of its full rendering responsibilities by off-loading this task to Opera servers. In addition the Opera Turbo uses advanced compression technology to speed up data transfer and to reduce the amount of data that needs to be downloaded by up to 80 percent.

While Opera Presto 2.2 is Opera's rendering engine that enables Opera Mobile 9.7 to display Web pages on the phone up to 25 percent faster. Opera Presto 2.2 is the same rendering engine used in Opera's desktop browser.
